Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that this letter finds you and your family well.
As per the Ministers announcement yesterday, today was the last day of face-to-face learning on school site for all pupils before Christmas. From Monday 14 December we will move to online learning for all pupils for the final week of term. We have postponed our INSET day planned for Friday 18 December so that we can provide 5 full days of learning, support and contact next week.
We have all seen the news about the significant and serious increase in the Covid infection across South Wales. It really is a very serious situation at the moment, and we are all urged to follow the WG advice i.e. even if it is allowed, please think carefully about taking actions that involve contacts outside our household. It is vitally important that all pupils are working from home next week, engaging in their learning, making socially responsible decisions, and ensuring that they are strictly adhering to the Welsh Government rules and expectations.
If you wish to be in contact with the school next week, the school switchboard will be operating from 0830-1400 each day.
On a different note, you may be aware that it is an much loved Christmas tradition at St Cenydd to hold a Staff Panto. Although very different this year with social distancing and other mitigations, I am very grateful to our staff team who filmed a very entertaining panto which we shared with our pupils during their final lesson today. It was a brilliant way to end the week and proved that the Christmas spirit is alive and well here in St Cenydd.
Thank you for your support and kindness throughout this continuing challenging time. Please take care and keep safe.
