Dear Parents and Carers
Unfortunately, we have been notified this morning of a positive case of Covid-19.
A pupil has tested positive for coronavirus and we therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
As a result, all pupils in Year 11 must isolate at home for 14 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 11 must isolate at home up to and including Monday 7 December 2020. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
Their lessons will continue at home during this period of isolation as per their timetable, with lessons posted on Google classroom and via their school Gmail accounts.
Year 11 pupils can return to school on Tuesday 8 December 2020.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Thank you to all parents of Y11 who have collected their child so promptly from school this morning. We very much appreciate your support.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
