Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that you and your children have had an enjoyable half term break.
Before we return to school tomorrow, please find below some updates:
The rules have changed if someone in your household has Covid symptoms or has tested positive
You will be aware that the Welsh Government review of Covid measures took place on Friday and that there have been some changes. These changes regard what to do if a person in your household has any of the Covid symptoms, or has tested positive for Covid. This poster sums up the changes.
Essentially, in these circumstances, children and adults must have had a negative PCR test before they can attend school. Therefore if a person in your household has any of the Covid symptoms or has tested positive, please do not send your child/children to school until they have had a PCR test themselves and tested negative. It must be a PCR test in these circumstances, not a LFT test. You can book or order a PCR test online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
Positive pupil cases over half term
Over the half term break we have been informed by TTP and by parents of positive pupil cases in all year groups. If your child has tested positive over the half term break, please inform the school by phoning in school hours or by emailing stcca@caerphilly.gov.uk.
If your child has tested positive and has come to the end of their 10 day isolation, please ensure that they are well enough and do not have a temperature before sending them to school.
Letter from the Leader of the Council
Cllr Philippa Marsden, Leader of the Council, has written an open letter to residents and business in Caerphilly. Please see here.
As per my letter on 22 October, we appreciate your support in ensuring that your child
- takes a LFT test either this evening or tomorrow morning before returning to school, continuing to take these tests twice weekly throughout term time
- attends school in their full school uniform
- behaves appropriately and safely as they travel to and from school.
We look forward to starting the new half term tomorrow.
Thank you for your support.
