St Cenydd is a fully inclusive school, committed to offering opportunity for all. We host a local authority resource base as well as a satellite class for Trinity Fields Special School.
The aims of the school are:
to create an environment that meets the additional learning needs of each child; to ensure that the additional learning needs of children are identified, assessed and provided for; to make clear the expectations of all partners in the process; to identify the roles and responsibilities of staff in providing for children's additional learning needs; to enable all children to have full access to the school curriculum.
We respect the fact that children: have different educational needs and aspirations; require different strategies for learning; acquire, and communicate information at different rates; need a range of different teaching approaches and experiences.
St Cenydd aims at all times to work within the terms of The Disability Discrimination Act 2001, thereby providing protection for disabled pupils and prospective pupils by preventing discrimination against them for a reason relating to their disability.
St Cenydd School is very proud to host a Satellite Class with Trinity Fields School, affording the department many important and valuable links. We have enjoyed educational visits together to enhance pupils social and communication skills, including visits to The Amelia Trust Farm and Bristol Zoo. Our annual visit to the Disability Sports Event in Cardiff has allowed for an inclusive sporting experience for children with a variety of needs. We have also enjoyed welcoming Trinity Fields Special School pupils to multi sports competitions.
We continue to develop strong links and learning opportunities with Trinity Fields through our joint working approach and our partnership goes from strength to strength.
