In St Cenydd Community School we believe that all students have an equal entitlement to our careers and work-related education programme that will provide them with an understanding of the world of work, help them to explore career options and to support them to make the most of the opportunities available to them.
Careers is delivered through the PSE programme as well as off timetable activities and presentations arranged throughout the year. Individual and group interviews are arranged for all students in years 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 to assist with their option choices and planning their personal career pathways. Employer mentoring is offered to selected groups of students and all students are involved with entrepreneurial activities. We engage with representatives from different employment sectors through the Careers Wales Business Engagement programme.
In 2021, St. Cenydd Community School was awarded the Careers Mark recognisinig the continuous improvement in the delivery of the Careers and World of Work framework.
Guidance for work experience placements can be arranged for students in the Sixth Form who require it to support their studies or career and university choices.
