On July 3rd St Cenydd welcomed back former pupil Amy Dowden who was recently announced as one of 3 new female professional dancers to join the new season of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Amy Dowden joins Ukrainian and Australian professional dancers and is the first ever professional dancer on the show from Wales. We are extremely proud of Amy!
Whilst at St Cenydd Amy achieved an A* at GCSE Dance and 2 distinction stars in BTEC National Diploma in Dance, and we knew she was destined to have her name in lights!
Amy gave an inspiring assembly on how she believes that anything is possible and motivating others to follow their dreams no matter what obstacles they face. Amy then led a workshop for our talented dancers, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Amy and her partner Ben became British Amateur Latin Champions in November and now will appear on Strictly which starts in September. We wish her every success. She has our vote!
