On 23rd and 24th March, eight Year 12 pupils ventured to Southerndown and Cardiff to collect primary data for their UNIT 2 AS exam. We managed to dodge the showers on both days and we were very impressed by how well Year 12 worked.
Miss Healy and Miss Duff accompanied them to Southerndown to investigate: "How does sediment size change across a storm beach?" Pupils made great use of the new fieldwork equipment purchased by the school and returned with solid data on which to base their analysis and conclusions.
Mrs Davids and Miss Duff went to Cardiff to help with the investigation: "To what extent is there inequality in Riverside?" Pupils were confident in approaching the public to conduct questionnaires and practised important fieldwork skills such as carrying out environmental quality assessments and bi-polar surveys.
