On Thursday 7th November four pupils from St Cenydd School and two pupils from each of the feeder primary schools, all attended a taster day at Jesus College, Oxford University. Much to the pupils delight the college is renowned for being the ‘major welsh college’ of Oxford University, with a long line of welsh principals and alumni. The day involved a tour of Oxford where pupils visited many of the key historical sights, but the excitement peaked with photos at Radcliffe Camera, a famous library that features in many of the Harry Potter films. The pupils also experienced a Q&A session with a professor, met with current welsh students of the university and had a crash course in Japanese! This was an inspiring visit that highlighted to pupils that if they aspire to go to a leading university then there is nothing in their way.
