The geography department recently welcomed guest speaker, Nigel Little, from the charity Meint Cymru/ Size of Wales. Year 8 and Year 11 had the opportunity to learn about how the rainforest in Borneo is exploited for the production of soya and palm oil. They discussed how this contributes to climate change and the importance of using palm oil from sustainable sources. The pupils were fantastic with the interactive parts of the session and gained a lot from participating.
They also learned about the impressive work of the charity that protects a tropical rainforest area twice the actual size of Wales.
We look forward to welcoming Nigel again in the future.
